What is Indie? Mostly- it’s something you have to do, no matter how crazy it seems… #megabooth
Game Sauna photos
Some of our agents attended a little gamedev get-together last night, and maybe you can tell that we live in a Scandinavian *Nordic country… because we had a sauna (+beer & pizza naturally)! A photographer was stalking us during the event… and it seems he managed to capture our secretive agents on camera! He even managed to get a shot of Steal 2 in action. We showed an earlier build of the game to our friends, and they seem to enjoy seeing it and playing it. We couldn’t show the current build- because it’s broken while we implement lots of changes to finalise the game design and UI. Things are looking good though, and we hope to have news for you very soon on when you can all play the game.

*now we’ve confused you… unless you also live here.
Well, I’m older. Yes it’s my birthday today… but my team cheered me up by creating this portrait! If only I was actually eating birthday pie all day, but when we say No More Pie we mean it?!

Holed up
Well well, what a year. We’ve been holed up in our home offices working, spread around the world. Sometimes it’s been awesome, and we’ve enjoyed the freedom that our virtual company brings. No 9-5 and no rules, but then… as we strive to ready our game Steal 2 (currently some private testing is finally happening!) we’ve been grinding a little bit, putting in some extra effort, and some amusing conversation popped up in our online office…

I should blog about that….. glamorous side of indie dev
I’m prone to exaggeration, and luckily for me, my home city has an awesome shared office space that I can go and hang out in, so that can feel more like a normal working environment. Personally I really like working at home because I feel relaxed, and happy there. Also, I don’t live alone… my wife won’t be happy with my claims! It just happened to feel quite significant this week, to talk to another person, a very friendly old lady too!

No More Pie Shop!
This week we decided you might want to promote our brand for us, how about it? Actually myself (The Artist) and Mr Wizard attended a little games event in our city. As you can see from my instagram that night, I decided to wear our company logo as a t-shirt design. That helped a few people recognise us, so yes, those people know our true identity! This got me thinking though, the t-shirt looked rather good, people seemed to like it, so we’ve decided to launch a little webshop where you can order your own No More Pie merchandise, including t-shirts of course. The small amount of money we make on each item will go straight into the development budget for Steal 2, so you’d be helping your favourite game company and looking cool at the same time. What’s not to like about that? You can see the shop has a permalink at the top of our website, or click on this t-shirt…
I’ve borrowed (stolen) this video from some old friends that created a rather successful indie games company called Hello Games. Now- for all you aspiring game designers out there- THIS is how you design levels, and it also manages to capture how proper serious game developers work, no nonsense- it’s not fun you know… this is a business! How dare you! That’s what we all tell our Mums of course…
Here’s a link to the original blog post by Hello Games- check them out, they are awesome.
